Róbert Wessman is chairman of Adalvo. He is also the founder, chairman and CEO of Alvotech, the founder and chairman of Alvogen and the chairman of Lotus Pharma.

Róbert is a global leader in generic pharmaceuticals and biosimilars. Over the past 25 years he has founded and grown numerous enterprises with a singular purpose: to make life-changing medicines more affordable and readily available to people and patients around the world.

Alongside Adalvo, Róbert has founded and led multiple 'unicorns' — enterprises scaled to be worth more than $1bn — in this space worldwide. His other companies include generics makers and distributors Actavis, Alvogen and Medis, as well as Iceland-based biosimilars pioneer Alvotech. His achievements and business strategies have been the subject of three Harvard Business School case studies.

Róbert was born and raised in Iceland. He attended public schools in the Reykjavik area and received his BA in business administration from the University of Iceland. In 1999, at the age of 29, Róbert left his position in the Hamburg office of an Icelandic shipping line and returned to Iceland to become CEO of a near bankrupt local drugmaker, Delta. Merged with another local pharmaceutical company, Actavis was born, and by the time Róbert stepped down as CEO in 2008 to found Alvogen, it had grown to be one of the world's largest generics companies. He has been leading force for growth and innovation in the sector ever since.

Róbert built Alvogen around a struggling drugmaker in upstate New York, and within a decade had grown it into one of the world's leading generics companies. With the company's growth, Adalvo, which began as its B2B licensing division, was spun out as a standalone company led by Róbert's investment firm Aztiq, and continues to serve partners worldwide.

Róbert and his wife have six children. An avid and formerly competitive cyclist, he enjoys spending all the time he can at his vineyard in central France

Robert Wessman

Anil is the CEO at Adalvo, CCO of Alvotech and Chairman of the Board at Arphio. Anil comes with an impressive track record as a CEO, P&L owner, commercial operations professional and expert negotiator, completing countless license, acquisition, supply, distribution, and sales and marketing agreements, worth >$25B. Over the course of his 15-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Anil developed an extensive network and deep expertise in Commercial Operations, BD and M&A. Anil plays an integral role in building and establishing Adalvo as one of the leading B2B companies in Europe.

Anil previously served as the Head of Global Licensing for HELM AG where he managed all partnerships for small molecules in addition to biosimilars through a joint venture with Gedeon Richter, resulting in the most successful commercial performance in the company’s 40-year history. He also held positions of increasing responsibility at Abdi Ibrahim, in various regions and functions, eventually heading all international market operations where he developed and led the successful execution of a global market entry strategy including more than 30 new markets. He began his career at Sanofi as a medical rep and transitioned to business development.

Anil holds an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and a Master of Marketing Management from Galatasaray University. He completed a Bachelor of Engineering with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Engineering, graduating with honors. He has continued honing his skillset through various executive education programs at Harvard and INSEAD.

Anil Okay

Faysal Kalmoua brings over 26 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization, including 21 years in portfolio management, R&D, and business development. He specializes in generics and biosimilars, with deep expertise in product portfolio strategy, IP assessments and R&D.


Faysal Kalmoua has served as COO since August 2023, and as Head of Portfolio and Project Management for Alvotech since 2022 and as one of Alvotech directors since 2020. Since 2015, he has served as Executive Vice President of Portfolio, Business Development and Research and Development for Alvogen. Prior to joining Alvogen, Mr. Kalmoua served in various management positions for Synthon for nearly 16 years. Mr. Kalmoua holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the Radboud University Nijmegen and an executive MBA from Insead.

Faysal Kalmoua

Martina is leading the Scientific Affairs teams for Adalvo. She brings more than 20 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry. She has been working across global regulatory setup for over 15 years. Leading teams in all continents, Martina successfully spearheaded several thousands of MA strategies including a number of proprietary, 505b2/hybrid and complex products.

During her career, she was able to bring innovative and proprietary products to full regulatory approval earlier than those products could be granted an EU regulatory approval.

Martina Feitzinger

Alessandra Ruggiero is leading the Quality team at Adalvo. She bringing with her more than 20 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical technical operations and quality with a successful track record of compliance remediation of big manufacturing sites producing injectables. Before joining Adalvo, Alessandra covered different Quality Leadership roles in different pharmaceutical companies like Biosearch manufacturing (Aventis spin off), J&J, Pfizer, Haupt Pharma, Patheon Thermofisher, Kedrion, IBI Farmaceutici, leading more than 30 regulatory inspections from US-FDA, PMDA, ANVISA, EMA, Russian MoH, Turkish MoH. Alessandra started her career in Research & Development at Biosearch manufacturing (merged into Vicuron/Pfizer). Alessandra received a Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Federico II Naples, Italy. She is very passionate about pharmaceutical production and is always focused on the quality of our products and patients safety.

Andreas brings over two decades of global experience in supply chain, procurement, and operations, having held senior leadership roles at Pharmathen, Zentiva, Sandoz, and Henkel. With a proven track record in building world-class teams, optimizing end-to-end supply chains, and driving multimillion-euro efficiencies, Andreas is a visionary leader who combines strategic thinking with deep operational expertise.

At Adalvo, he leads the Supply Chain and Global Procurement functions, helping us further strengthen our operational excellence and deliver on our ambitious growth goals.

Frank Fischer serves as Adalvo's VP of Information Technology, spearheading the development and execution of the company's IT strategy. With over 35 years in the IT industry, he brings extensive experience from renowned companies like Microsoft and Google. Frank's diverse technical background, combined with a strong business acumen, makes him a valuable asset for Adalvo. He holds an MSc in IT and an MSc in Business and Organizational Psychology from the University of Liverpool, along with an MSc in Physics from the University of Karlsruhe

Frank Fisher

Gabi Cassar is leading the Human Resources and Corporate Communications functions at Adalvo, bringing over 10 years of experience within the HR field. Her background and experience comes from   an array of different industries including hospitality, events and pharmaceutical. Gabi is responsible for the strategic development of the human resources function and people strategy. She has extensive experience with employee engagement, compensation and benefits, reward & recognition, professional growth, culture & communications, training and performance management.

Gabi graduated with a Bachelor degree in Psychology and furthered her studies by reading for a MBA, from Henley University. She continued to enhance her knowledge through various education programs related to counselling and digital marketing.

Istvan is leading the Portfolio function for Adalvo. He brings 15 years of experience in the industry. Throughout his career he has been involved in managing portfolio and product securement for various regional and global companies. His interest lies mainly with complex and orphan products where he brings a solid track record navigating in various commercial regions from Europe to Asia-Pacific. Istvan brings a broad knowledge when it comes to product assessment, market evaluation and competitive intelligence.

Istvan holds an M.sc in Economics and an MBA in Business Management.

Business-oriented lawyer specializing in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as General Counsel at Adalvo. Focused on supporting strategic growth by aligning legal frameworks with business objectives in complex, fast-paced environments, with a pragmatic and solutions-driven approach.

Jessica Hugas

Luca is leading the R&D function for Adalvo. He brings 13 years of experience in the industry. Throughout his career he has been involved in the development of generics, 505b2 and brand product for WW market. His interest lies mainly with complex drug product like injectable peptides, implants, extended-release oral dosage forms and topical product. Luca brings a broad knowledge when it comes to technical product assessment, drug product development and registration in market high regulated markets.

In this pivotal role, Mark oversees all financial operations, drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, and spearhead initiatives to ensure Adalvo’s financial health and sustainable growth. He is also instrumental in managing risk and leading financial strategies aligned with our business objectives.

Mark brings with him an impressive 20-year career spanning both professional services and key industry sectors. At  Deloitte Malta, he dedicated 17 years to managing an extensive portfolio of local and international audit clients across diverse industries. His expertise deepened as he took on senior finance leadership roles at Alvogen and Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase Plc, where he successfully managed complex corporate structures within shared service environments in highly regulated fields, demonstrating an exceptional ability to drive financial efficiency and compliance.

Known for his passion for people, Mark excels in building high-performing teams and driving change management, ensuring sustainable financial growth and operational efficiency. A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), he brings a wealth of expertise in corporate finance, compliance, and strategic planning, making him a valuable asset in guiding the company's financial future.

Mark Decesare

In this key leadership role, Paulo is responsible for driving Adalvo’s strategic growth initiatives by overseeing Key Strategic Projects and M&A activities. He also manages corporate processes, and commercial strategies for Adalvo's key strategic projects, identifying opportunities to expand Adalvo’s presence and strengthen affiliate relationships. This role is central to shaping and delivering on Adalvo’s growth ambitions, and we are confident Paulo will make a significant impact in this new capacity.

Toni is leading the Intellectual Property team at Adalvo. He has more than 20 years of experience in different pharmaceutical companies where he has been involved in developing and implementing complex patent and data exclusivity litigation strategies for several generics and added value products, including leading parallel litigation cases in multiple European countries.   He also has experience in patent and trademark prosecution.

Toni qualified as European Patent Attorney in 2010 and holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry.

Agatha leads Adalvo’s South European Business Development cluster, with a focus on licensing our products in the market and ensuring strong coverage for Adalvo’s portfolio. She is also responsible for building and nurturing relationships with our partners across the region.

Agatha Vazquez

Bruno Alves is responsible for Adalvo´s business development activities in Brazil and MENA.

Bruno has over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development and partnership management. 

 Before Adalvo, Bruno worked at Tecnimede´s international out-license department, where he supported the expansion of the company in MENA and APAC, with a strong knowledge of local/regional registration requirements. Bruno was responsible for forecasting and business plan analysis for both Generics and RX Innovative/Added Value products under B2B and B2C models.

Bruno holds a Master's in Biology at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.

Accomplished, entrepreneurial, and decisive Executive Commercial & Business Development Leader with strong experience working overseas for large-scaled local and global Pharmaceutical and Agriculture organizations, with a full spectrum of covering Europe, USA, Middle East, Asia, and Turkish markets. Expertise in driving global business development and market cycles, signing high-volume licensing, implementing commercial excellence, portfolio management, developing sales and distribution strategy, expansion of export markets, and launching optimization all across the clusters. Can Adamoglu

With two decades of expertise in the pharmaceutical sector, Ciaran has demonstrated a consistent track record on a global scale in Business Development, Supply Chain, and Leadership. His considerable Business Development experience spans across Europe, GCC, LATAM, North America, Asia, Australia, NZ, South Africa, Russia, and C.I.S. Utilizing robust leadership skills, he excels in coaching and mentoring individuals, fostering highly engaged and productive teams.

Ciaran Burke

Marc Nolasco is responsible for the business development activities in Western European countries.

Marc has over 7 years’ experience in the fields of business development, partnership collaborations, and sales strategy, with a significant portion of that time -over 4 years- spent in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to Adalvo, Marc worked at Galenicum Health, Chemo and Amazon Web Services, contributing to the expansion of all these companies’ B2B footprint across Europe.

Marta Puig is responsible for the business development activities in Southern Europe.

Marta started her professional career as a consultant, but she soon joined the pharmaceutical industry, where she has over 8 years of experience in business development, commercial and sales strategies and partnership collaborations.

Prior to Adalvo, Marta worked at Galenicum Health, where she contributed to the B2C growth of the company in LATAM and the B2B expansion within Europe and APAC countries.

Marta holds a Degree in Business Administration and a MsC in International Magament at ESADE Business School, in Barcelona.

Marta Puig

Milton is responsible for the overall strategic management of Adalvo's portfolio products and implementation of the sales strategy with high-value clients.

Milton is a pharmaceutical executive with over 16 years of experience across commercial leadership, business development, and strategic growth in Latin America. He has been leading operations in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and Bolivia as Commercial Director Andean Region at PISA Farmacéutica.


Previously directed regional expansion and sales strategy at INCOBRA, and led portfolio and licensing initiatives at Eurofarma (covering 20 countries in LATAM)  and La Sante (covering 14 countries in LATAM). Started his professional career as Quality and Compliance Analyst within PROCAPS, having hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and verifying Quality System Elements (QSEs) to support regulatory compliance.

Milton is highly skilled in logistics optimization, inventory management, and coordinating cross-functional processes in manufacturing environments Skilled in managing product pipelines, launching new brands, and overseeing national sales forces across non-retail and trade channels. Milton is an expert in contract manufacturing to multinationals as Sanofi, Boehringer, Grunenthal, GSK, Pfizer, MSD, in/out licensing, and strategic planning across diverse pharmaceutical markets.

Milton holds a Master’s degree in Marketing & Sales Direction, Barcelona University and a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Autónoma del Caribe University Barranquilla, Colombia. Since 2019, he is a university professor, sharing expertise in pharmaceutical marketing and international trade within Universidad de los Andes (University # 1 in Colombia) and Uiversidad del Atlantico.

Milton Carroll

Patricia Monteiro is responsible for the overall strategic management of Adalvo's portfolio and sales in the region, in line with Adalvo's B2B strategy.  Focusing on driving growth and expanding market presence in the APAC region.

Patricia has extensive experience in international business development and marketing. 

Patricia holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lisbon and has completed a Marketing Specialization at ESAN – Graduate School of Business in Lima, Peru

Patricia Monteiro

Tarun serves as the Business Development Director at Aztiq's portfolio companies, including Adalvo, Alvotech, and Arphio. With extensive experience in global markets such as the US, EU, LATAM, MENA, and APAC, Tarun has successfully driven numerous In- & Out-licensing, B2B deals for Biosimilars, Peptides, Vaccines, and more. He has a proven track record in establishing Biologics CDMO & CMO businesses and identifying new opportunities to expand portfolios.

Tarun's expertise spans Global Business Development & Licensing, M&A, brand acquisition, market access strategy, and lifecycle management. He has been instrumental in pioneering biosimilar product development and achieving successful launches in the Indian market. Holding a Ph.D. in Molecular Toxicology and a Post-Doctorate in Drug Repurposing, Tarun is also a registered Pharmacist in India.

Veronika is responsible for out-licensing Adalvo's pipeline and portfolio products, aligning strategies with our B2B objectives. Her role focuses on building expertise in differentiated generics, negotiating licensing and supply agreements, and fostering strong partnerships to expand our customer base.

Veronika brings over 8 years of international experience in pharmaceutical business development, particularly in the B2B out-licensing sector. Her expertise spans customer management, negotiations, and CRM system implementation within dynamic and fast-paced environments.
