A complex anti-infective developed and out-licensed by Adalvo achieves U.S. FDA approval, marking a major milestone in one of the market's most valuable anti-infective opportunities.

Zug, Switzerland, 11 Sept 2026: Adalvo today announced that Fidaxomicin 200mg tablets, developed and out-licensed by Adalvo, have received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The approval was secured with Adalvo's partner Sandoz AG. as the ANDA holder and commercial partner for the U.S. market. The milestone reflects Adalvo's technical strength in complex molecules.

Fidaxomicin is a macrolide antibacterial indicated in adult patients for the treatment of C. difficile-associated diarrhea (CDI), a serious and potentially life-threatening gastrointestinal condition. It is technically demanding to develop and manufacture, and that complexity is precisely the point: few companies can develop and deliver it, making this approval a powerful endorsement of Adalvo's capabilities.

The numbers underline the scale of the opportunity. According to IQVIA, global Fidaxomicin sales reached approximately USD 593 million in 2025, up from USD 430 million in 2023. With double-digit growth and a market that continues to expand, Fidaxomicin represents a large, attractive opportunity with limited competition, exactly the kind of high-value, defensible asset Adalvo is built to deliver.

This approval reflects Adalvo's relentless focus on early market access, regulatory precision, and technically challenging products. It further strengthens Adalvo's growing anti-infectives portfolio and demonstrates how Adalvo turns complex development into real commercial value for its partners in the U.S. and other global markets.

"This approval reflects what Adalvo does best: taking on the most technically demanding molecules and delivering them with precision, together with a partner who shares our ambition. Fidaxomicin is a significant and growing market, and this milestone creates real value for patients and partners alike. I am proud of what our team has achieved."
