Adding to its first-to-market launch record, Adalvo delivers a simultaneous launch in all tablet strengths, on Day-1 of patent expiry, reaching patients the moment protection ends.

Zug, Switzerland, 24 August 2026 — Adalvo today announced a simultaneous Day-1 launch of its generic Brivaracetam film-coated tablets across European markets, timed to the expiry of European patent protection. Enabled by Adalvo's dossier, marketing authorisations and supply, and delivered through its partners, the product is now live in all strength's region-wide — building on the first-to-market launch of Brivaracetam in early markets earlier this year.

Brivaracetam is indicated as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial-onset seizures, with or without secondary generalisation, in adults, adolescents, and children from two years of age with epilepsy. The product is a bioequivalent generic of the reference brand Briviact®, developed by UCB Pharma. Adalvo's Brivaracetam dossier was submitted via the Decentralised Procedure (DCP) on Day-1 following expiry of the data exclusivity period, demonstrating the company's commitment to Day-1 execution and its ability to move with speed and precision as exclusivity windows open.

Global sales of Brivaracetam reached $1.11 billion in 2025, up from $893.2 million in 2024 and $724.8 million in 2023, reflecting annual growth of around 24% (IQVIA). Sustained demand for epilepsy therapies makes it one of the more significant opportunities in the CNS generics space.

"Being ready to launch on Day-1 of patent expiry, across multiple markets at once and in every strength, is not something many companies can do. It takes discipline, speed and the right partnerships, with everything ready long before the window opens. Having been first to market in Croatia, we are now showing what Adalvo does best: turning the moment a patent expires into immediate access for patients across Europe."

CEO, Adalvo

This launch further demonstrates Adalvo's broader CNS portfolio strategy and its ability to convert regulatory milestones into commercial outcomes for partners. Adalvo continues to expand its neurological offering, providing partners with differentiated, high-quality generics that reach patients across key European markets at the earliest possible moment.
